Written notice of protest must reach the appraisal review board by May 15 or the 30th day after the appraisal notice was delivered, whichever is later (Tax Code 41.44(a)(1)). A notice mailed by first-class mail is presumed delivered the day it is deposited in the mail (Tax Code 1.07(c)); if the last day is a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, the next regular business day counts (Tax Code 1.06); a protest sent by first-class mail counts as timely if postmarked on or before the due date (Tax Code 1.08). When is the Glasscock County mineral property tax protest deadline?
You file a written notice of protest with the appraisal review board not later than May 15 or the 30th day after the appraisal notice was delivered to you, whichever is later (Tax Code section 41.44(a)(1)). For the 2027 tax year May 15 falls on a Saturday, so the day the state's rules count is May 17, 2027 (section 1.06). A notice delivered after April 15 gives a later day: 30 days from delivery.
