What is a field on a royalty check stub?
A field is the Railroad Commission's name for the pool or reservoir a lease produces from, printed with a field number. Many stubs show it beside the lease name. Find it here to see every lease producing from the same field and how the field's output has moved.
Is my lease in the same field as the wells nearby?
Not necessarily. A field can cover several counties, and one county holds many fields at different depths. The field page lists the counties and operators in it, so you can see who else is producing from the same formation.
Why is the field on my stub not in this list?
The list holds fields with at least three producing leases. A smaller field has no page here, but its leases are still in the lease search.
